It is a locally and legally incorporated private company in Uganda with the main objective to contribute towards poverty eradication and livelihood improvement of the small, medium and commercial farmers by providing constant supply of high quality seeds, timely and at affordable prices.

Pearl Seeds Ltd has specialized in producing and marketing a wide range of certified agricultural seeds and farm inputs both within and outside Uganda. Pearl Seeds Ltd selects and makes partnerships with private companies, Makerere University, College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, the National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO) institutes referred to as National Crops Resources Research Institutes (NaCRRI) and National Semi Arid Resources Research Institute (NaSARRI) , NARS and CGIAR (Centers of Excellence) that provide the foundation seeds of high quality basing on yields, disease resistance, drought tolerance for multiplication. The foundation seeds are then given out to contracted out growers who are trained and get technical guidance from the staff of National Seed Certification Service (NSCS) in the Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) in order to produce certified seeds of the right quality.
